I've used little white boards for so long I don't even remember where we got them from. You could probably go into a teachers resource store and find them. I use them to teach my littles how to write their letters so they're not discouraged when it doesn't fit on a line. They like the fun of erasing it when it doesn't look just right. They're so caught up in the fun of it disappearing that they don't pay much attention to it not being right and therefore avoid any frustration they may have in practicing their letters.

Great Substitute Whiteboard! by: Mary
What a great idea! That way they can put the lines on the paper. Our lines wear off in a few months since I don't mark them soon enough in the summer for the next year! Our children really understood the placement of letters better when we added the lines on the melamine whiteboard.

I know a family that has a large sliding glass door and they use the sliding door as their dry erase board. The dry erase markers will just wipe of the glass. It is hard to "see" what you are writing on the glass, but they solved that problem by taping paper on the the OTHER side of the door. They are still writing on the glass, but it looks like it's on top of the paper so it makes seeing it much better.
